Q) At what age did you start playing hockey and who/what pushed you try and ultimately stick with the game?

I started playing hockey at 4 years old at my neighborhood rink. That’s where I learned to skate and play. I pushed myself to keep playing hockey, there were points I had to choose between hockey, baseball, or soccer and hockey always took priority in my life. I just fell in love with playing the game and how it feels to just skate around with a stick and puck.

Q) Is their one particular play, goal, hit, save, etc…that really stands out over your playing career?

One play that stands out to me is the day after my mom passed away, I scored a goal against a rival team. And it is a goal that really stands out to me and my family as a whole. No other goal will ever compare.

Q) Hockey is one of the more “team” based sports. What is the dynamic like to be a part of that atmosphere? (in the locker room, on the bus, practice, etc…)

The atmosphere in the hockey locker room is one of a kind. Just a great group of guys that are all there for one another to help each other improve as a whole. This group of guys is very unique and I look forward to playing with some of the guys for the next years as I continue to play college hockey.

Q) Entering your first year at Rider, what do you think your biggest adjustment will be and what ultimately led you to continue your education and playing career at Rider?

The biggest adjustment for me is getting to live away from home for an extended period of time. It is something I am not used to and I need to make the transition as smooth as can be. What led me to come to Rider is the reputation it carries and the success it has shown in my major (education). As well as having a very good hockey team that once I put on the skates with the guys I knew it would be a great fit for me.

Q) Some hockey players are known to be very superstitious; do you have any superstitions, pre-game during, etc…?

I always tape my stick from heel to toe every game, unless I score a goal the previous game, then I will keep the same tape job. I also put my equipment on right side to left. And I have been listening to the same music playlist before games for 3 years now.

Q) Favorite Team?

Pittsburgh Penguins

Q) Favorite Player?

Alex Galchenyuk or Matt Duchene

Q) Pre-Game Meal?

Whatever I can eat. Nothing special

Q) What type of music, if any, do you listen to before a game?

I listen to everything from country, to rap, to rock, and pop.

Q) What is the one piece of equipment you are most picky about?

I am most picky about my stick. I need to tape it the same way and use my rituals with it.
