Q)    At what age did you start playing hockey and who/what pushed you try and ultimately stick with the game?

I started playing hockey in the 8th grade, I was mostly pushed to start and continue by my friend Owen. I used to wrestle for 7 years, but I had more fun playing hockey which continued my drive to keep playing hockey.

Q)   Is their one particular play, goal, hit, save, etc…that really stands out over your playing career?

In a high school hockey game we (Hopewell Valley Central High School) played Princeton High School and the other team had a couple breakaway opportunities. One of them was an absolute robbery with my glove. I was bragging about it for a while.

Q)   Hockey is one of the more “team” based sports. What is the dynamic like to be a part of that atmosphere? (in the locker room, on the bus, practice, etc…)

It’s extremely nice being able to go around campus and seeing the guys. Just because we hang out a lot between practices and road trips we are all able to get along. Then we can bring that comradery out on the ice with us, displaying how much of a team we really are.

Q)  Entering your first year at Rider, what do you think your biggest adjustment will be and what ultimately led you to continue your education and playing career at Rider?

The biggest adjustment to being at rider will be changing my sleep schedule and adjusting to the new atmosphere. I chose rider because it had everything I was looking for in a school for education, it was also comfortable and close to home. Being able to continue hockey was also a reason why I chose Rider as well.

Q)   Some hockey players are known to be very superstitious; do you have any superstitions, pre-game during, etc…?

As a goalie, I am naturally very superstitious. I always wears shorts under my gear, I never tape my socks, I always tap posts the same way, and I always hit my head a couple times before the opening faceoff.

Q)  Favorite Team?

Florida Panthers

Q)   Favorite Player?

Tomas Vokoun

Q)  Pre-Game Meal?

Something small like a salad or nothing at all.

Q)  What type of music, if any, do you listen to before a game?

On my way to the rink I like to listen to rock music, but when I get to the rink I stop listening to music and try to go to a quiet place.

Q)  What is the one piece of equipment you are most picky about?

I am most picky about my leg pads. I always have to have them laced up the same way and fitting over my pants the same way.
