Meet Your Broncs with Ryan Labos

Meet Your Broncs will be a running series that features the members of the 2017-2018 Rider Broncs ice hockey team. Each week a new player will be featured giving Bronc fans the opportunity to learn more about their favorite player, both on and off the ice.

Height: 5’9″

Position: Forward
Home Town: Kendall Park, NJ
Academic Year: Freshmen

Q – At what age did you start playing hockey and who/what pushed you try and ultimately stick with the game?

A- I started playing when I was 4 and the people who pushed me the most to stick with the game were my parents and old coaches.

Q – Is their one particular play, goal, hit, save, etc…that really stands out over your playing career?

A – When I was younger, I scored a goal off the faceoff.

Q  -Hockey is one of the more “team” based sports. What is the dynamic like to be a part of that atmosphere? (in the locker room, on the bus, practice, etc…)

A – I would say everywhere. In the locker room, buses, practices, games, etc.

Q – As a freshmen, what is the biggest adjustment to playing on the college level?

A – My biggest adjustment would probably be the traveling and I’m looking forward to it. Also, I really liked the campus at Rider and I felt comfortable right when I stepped foot on this campus and I heard Rider had a hockey team so I was in right away.

Q – Some hockey players are known to be very superstitious; do you have any superstitions, pre-game during, etc…?

A – I usually put my left skate on first when I’m getting dressed and I like to be very neat with my equipment.

Q – Favorite Team?

A – New Jersey Devils

Q – Favorite Player?

A – Taylor Hall

Q – Pre-Game Meal?

A – Whatever I see in the kitchen

Q – What type of music, if any, do you listen to before a game?

A –Anything but country

Q – What is the one piece of equipment you are most picky about?

A – My skates
